The Best of Hoole Sunday the 2nd of August 2026

12 noon to 3:00 pm

 

This is a social event for everyone either on the allotments or as a member of HAGA and their immediate families and will include judging the best plots on site and the best vegetables displayed on the day.

The categories are as follows: -

Best Full Plot, Best Half and Best Newcomer, (under 18 months)

If you would like to nominate a plot to be considered, please leave the name of the plot holder and the plot number in the Hut on a Saturday or Sunday morning between 10:00 AM and 12:00 noon during July. The shop will be shut for the month of August, or if you prefer you can e-mail me their details at chris.caroe@gmail.com
For the Produce Competition we will be Judging: -

•    Beetroot x 3
•    Courgettes x 3
•    Longest Runner Bean x 1
•    Onions x 3
•    Potatoes x 5
•    Funniest Shaped Vegetable x 1
•    Runner Beans x 5 
•    Tomatoes x 5

The produce will need to be displayed on the table provided, which will be set up on the car park in front of the shop from 10:00 AM. Judging the vegetables will take place from 11:15 AM. Prize Giving 2.00pm.

 

You do not have to have entered the Vegetable Competition to come to the BBQ!

BBQ - will be ready to cook from 12 noon on the day; Bring your own food, plates, cutlery and drinks, tables and chairs will be provided We will cook your food ETC for you; if you could bring a sharing salad, all the better.
